Heirlooms from Karaton Yogyakarta

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Plered
    Phisical form : TUMBAK (spear)
    This heirloom was used by SUTOWIJOYO (Panembahan Senapati-the first Ruler of IInd Mataram Kingdom) to defeat Haryo Panangsang.

    Phisical form: a Flag
    A powerful Pusaka to combat epidemic.

Pusakas in the form of KERIS

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Kopek
    Dapur: Jalak Sangu Tumpeng
    In 1755, in the village of Pandak Karangnangka, Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono III of Karaton Surakarta gave this to his Uncle Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Jaka Piturun
    Dapur: Jalak Dinding
    From Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I, in the tradition of Karaton Yogyakarta a Prince or crown-Prince should receive this Pusaka form the Sultan as a symbolic confirmation that he would be coronated as the new Sultan.

    From Prabu Amangkurat IV, to Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwuno I.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Mahesa Nular

    From Kyai Mandurareja to Nyai Mas Ageng (Mrs.) Danureja I Kanjeng Ratu Hageng, the wife of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IV.

    From: Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I, given to Princess Ratu Bendara, the wife of Prince Diponegoro. – back again to Karaton.

    From Tumenggung Sasranegara to Princess Ratu Kencana, the wife of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono II to R. AY. Danureja (Mrs.) – back to Karaton via Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono V.

    Dapur : Tilam Upih
    From Panembahan Mangkurat. This Pusaka, belong to Arjuna, found in Dieng by Tumenggung WIRAGUNA Chief-Warrior of Mataram Kingdom.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Bathang Gajah
    Dapur : CARITA
    From Adipati Purwadiningrat (MAGETAN) to Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono III to Prince Dipanegara. This Pusaka had been missing for sometime, found back during the reign of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono V.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Lindri
    Dapur: PASOPATI
    From Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono II to Princess Maduretna to prince Dipanegara, back again to Karaton.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Ganda Kusuma
    Dapur: GADA
    From R.T. Tirtawiguna (creation of Sri Pakualam I) presented to Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono V.

Pusakas in the form of Spears

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Baru
    From ki ageng Mangir (during the time of Panembahan Senapati). Originally it was the lip of a Dragon by the name Baru Klinting.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng GandaWadana
    The Pusakas K.K.H. Plered, K.K.H. Baru, K.K.H. Gandawadana during the Garebeg Mulud audience and great audience to the sultan (Pasewakan Agung) are placed in Bangsal WITANA, Siti Hinggil.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Gadatapan

  • Kanjeng Kyai KlerkThis Pusaka was used to kill Captain Clerk during Giyanti war (around 1750).

Beside Kanjeng Kyai Tunggulwulung, (the most powerful flag Pusaka) there are other flags.

  • Kanjeng kyai Berkat

  • Kanjeng Kyai Dhudha
    These Pusakas during Garebeg Mulud procession are brought by KATANGGUNG soldiers.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Pareanom.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Pangarabarab
    In the form of a short sword during the Gerebeg Mulud procession, this Pusaka is brought by Ketanggung soldiers, inside a golden box.

Pusakas in the form of Bende (smaller gongs)

  • Kanjeng Kyai Bincak

  • Kanjeng Kyai Tundungmungsuh

  • Kanjeng Kyai Udanarum
    These pusakas are used to give more spirit and courage to the soldiers during a war. During Garebeg Procession they are brought by Mantrilebet Soldiers (hold by special CINDE clothes, under golden umbrellas).

  • Kanjeng Kyai Pamuk
    In the form of a whip. Used by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I during his struggle in the slope of mountain Merapi.
    During the procession of Garebeg Mulud and special offerings is brought by Karaton’s employees of SUMATALI group.

    The war carriage of Sri Sultan Hamnengkubuwono I

  • Several Gamelan sets

Heirlooms From Puro Mangkunagaran

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Tambur
    In the form of a Drum.
    It was used during the struggle of Prince Sambernyowo/K.G.P.AA Mangkunagara I, started in Mangadeg area. The sound of the Tambur could give image that Prince Sambernyowo’s troop was much bigger then the reality. So it discouraged the enemy.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Poh Jenggi
    In the form of: looks like a coconut

  • Kanjeng Kyai Galaganjur
    In the form of: a BENDE (smaller Gong). It was used to jeopardize the Dutch colonial forces (KUMPENI) by Prince Sambernjowo, who personally led the war.

  • Nyai Dhenok and Mbok Roro Sumyang
    In the form of: Dandang, large metal vessel for steaming rice.
    Both big rice-cookers were used by Prince Sambernjowo’s troop to cook rice during the war. The dandangs were magical. They could supply all necessary rice to be consumed by all Prince Sambernjowo’s warrious and folowers, even in the large amount. The dandang would not empty until everybody had taken enough rice.

  • The Gamelan set, especially carabalen Kyai Baswara, with its gong by the name of Kyai DUDHABANGSONG. It stimulated Prince Sambernjowo’s/troop with unusual courage during the war.

Some Pusakas of Puro Mangkunagaran are placed in the village of Nglaroh, Selagiri, Wonogiri. The names are:

Heirlooms from Puro Pakualaman

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Buyut
    In the form of TUMBAK/spear. A gift from Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I to Prince NATAKUSUMA/Sri Pakualam I.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Gumarang
    In the form a KERIS originally, it was received by Panembahan Senopati after conquering Madiun. A gift from Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I to Prince Natakusuma/Sri Pakualam I. This Pusaka is given a new name: Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Bontit.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Gambir Anom in the form of a Gong.

  • Kanjeng Kyai Hageng Pakubaru
    In the form of Tumbak/spear. It is 4m tall. The holder was slightly dented due to bullet shot during colonial time.

  • Several Gamelan sets.
